Watch this 2019 Chrysler Pacifica park itself using the new Park Assist feature.
Nick takes a minute to drive around the John Amato Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM parking lot and then uses the Park Assist feature. Once activated, the Pacifica takes control of the parking process while using the various sensors and rear camera as a guide.
What is Chrysler Park Assist?
Chrysler has added a feature to the new Pacifica called ParkSense Rear Park. It uses a variety of information gathered from onboard cameras and sensors to position the vehicle perfectly in the designated parking spot.
The sensors are located on the outside of the vehicle and include 6 in the front and 2 in the rear side. These sensors are able to "see" where the vehicle is and what is surrounding it while parking.Â
Getting into a tight spot used to be hard, but with the Park Assist feature, much of the work can be done without your input.
Rear Bumper Sensors Improve Safety
All of the sensors that Chrysler added to the Pacific are used to give the driver a "Bird's Eye" view as the vehicle is moving. Back around objects, park your car in a tight spot or "see" another vehicle before you do while backing out of a parking spot.
The sensors are going to improve the overall safety and reduce fender benders in parking situations. Car insurance companies love that :)
